This service has several tasks within the Doñana Biological Station (EBD)
1. Coordinate Research in the Doñana Natural Area. The legally appointed director
of the EBD coordinates all research projects undertaken in Doñana (104.970 hectares).
In this service research proposals are received and registered, and after its approval
by the
research committee (composed by representatives of different authorities and presided
by the director of the EBD), permissions are applied for and an annual report is
written about the main results of all running projects.
2. Grants for access to Doñana Natural Area. The biological reserves (Doñana and
Guadiamar) has been awarded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Spain "Unique
Technological and Scientific Infrastructure (ICTS-RBD)". Trough the Spanish National
Programme for Technological and Scientific Research Infrastructure and Equipment,
the ICTS-RBD can apply for financial support for researchers from the European Community
and European Economic Area who are interested in carrying out projects in the natural
reserves. This service applies for the grants and, after selection of the proposals
by a External Access Committee, provide logistic and technical support for the visiting

3. Management of the scientific production of the EBD. All records of scientific
papers, chapters, books, Phd dissertations, congresses, projects, etc. are kept
to date by the personnel of this service and processed for different means (annual
reports of the institution, reports for different .authorities, promotional and
informative acts, etc.)
4. Technical and scientific information about the Doñana Natural Area. All records
of scientific papers, chapters, books, Phd dissertations, congresses, technical
reports, etc. about or related with Doñana are kept up to date by the personnel
of this service.
5. Project Management and Support. The personnel of this service gives technical
support to the director and researchers of the EBD for activities related with project
proposals, running projects, seminars, consultancies of private and public companies,
etc.
