Chronicle of a foretold extinction

The Andalusian torrillo is the first bird declared extinct in Europe in the last 50 years. The last European specimens were hunted in 1981 and are stored in the scientific collection of the EBD-CSIC. Very little was known about its natural history until a small population was discovered in some orchards near the sea in Morocco in 2007. An audiovisual walk through the past, the present and, perhaps, the future of the Andalusian Buttonquail (in Spanish, with subtitles in Spanish, French and English). Documentory of Javier Esquivias.
