Mission statement

The main objective of the LEM (Laboratorio de Ecología Molecular) from the Doñana Biological Station is to support and facilitate the development of ecology, conservation and evolutionary research projects that include genetic methodologies, providing them with the required infrastructure, equipment, technical assessment and services. The field of ecological and conservation genetics is rapidly evolving and new methods and protocols are published regularly. LEM aims to become flexible and adapt and support these new technologies and advancements. Currently, the LEM is supporting a notable part of research projects in our Institute with a high proportion of both scientist and users involved. In order to best support the increasing interest in molecular methods LEM is increasing its level of professionalism, facilitating communication within the increasing LEM community and updating methods, software and support.
