I am a senior technician at EBD. I did my PhD at the University of Utrecht and my MSc in Environmental and Agricultural Sciences at Wageningen University (The Netherlands). Since May 2008 I am responsible for the Research Coordination Office, which currently has a team of about 10, widely skilled, people. The tasks I am responsible for are technical as well as administrative and managerial. My duties include managing research activities in the Doñana Natural Area and centralising, recording and processing the scientific and technical activities of the EBD-CSIC and the ICTS Doñana. Related to these tasks, I am involved in the elaboration of reports for the CSIC administration and Ministry of Science, the preparation of annual reports (for EBD-CSIC and on research activities in Doñana), scientific project proposals and strategic planning. I also support the communication and dissemination of EBD activities to the general public and I am responsible for the transfer of research results to Doñana managers.
Prior to this position, I worked in an environmental consultancy firm (Asistencias técnicas Clave, S.L., Seville) for 15 years. As a consultant, I have directed applied research and environmental monitoring projects, specialising in the assessment of the environmental impacts of infrastructures, particularly utility, on wildlife. I have has collaborated in multidisciplinary projects related to planning, sustainable development and biodiversity conservation strategies.
