My main interest is the conservation of temporary ponds in the face of global change. I am particularly concerned about the current threats to these ponds, such as biological invasions, anthropogenic disturbances and climate change, and how these influence their biodiversity. Although my work focuses mainly on the study of aquatic invertebrate communities (macroinvertebrates and microcrustaceans), I am particularly interested in the ecology of unique species such as large branchiopods. In addition, I have also studied other groups of aquatic but also terrestrial fauna and flora, and I am fascinated by the biology of invasions and island biology in the context of global change.
