Domestic cats pose a threat to native wildlife in neotropical cities such as Mexico, which is considered one of the regions with the greatest diversity of native and endemic species. The scarcity of studies on the effectiveness of anti-predation devices makes it necessary to evaluate alternatives that mitigate the impact of domestic cats on wildlife. We therefore evaluated the effectiveness of two visual anti-predation collars (Birdsbesafe® vs. a locally designed model) in reducing the number of wild animals captured by domestic cats in Xalapa, Veracruz, Mexico.
