Christian Arnanz Porras

I hold a degree in Biology (2019) and a Master's in Ecology (2021) from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Specializing in limnology since completing my degree, I began my PhD in 2021 within the framework of the ClimaRiskinPond project. My research focuses on the conservation of temporary ponds, evaluating trends in their conservation status at different scales within the context of global change, and identifying their main threats, such as invasive non-native species and intensive agriculture. I am also interested in the dynamics of metacommunities within these ecosystems, with particular attention to connectivity, spatial distribution, and the environmental factors shaping biodiversity, both at local (Doñana National Park), and regional scale (peninsular Spain).
