I am a specialist in chiroptera. I have worked with bats from different regions of the world (Neotropical, Afrotropical, Palaearctic), from different approaches, including evolutionary aspects (phylogeny, phylogeography, systematics), related to ecology and behaviour (echolocation, social organisation, trophic ecology), conservation and human health (zoonosis). In recent years I have focused especially on the study of diet using molecular metabarcoding techniques applied to understand the role of bats as pest controllers, on the autoecology and conservation of the greater noctule bat (Nyctalus lasiopterus), and on the mortality of bats in wind farms.
