I started my PhD at the Doñana Biological Station (EBD-CSIC) in 2026. My research focuses on the relationships between climate variability, cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms (CyanoHABs), and human health. I use satellite remote sensing to detect, monitor, and characterize cyanobacterial blooms in reservoirs, and to investigate how climatic factors influence their occurrence, intensity, and spatiotemporal dynamics. Ultimately, my work aims to improve our understanding of how climate-driven changes in bloom patterns affect water quality and may increase risks to human health under a changing climate.

Thesis: Detection of cyanobacterial harmful algal blooms in reservoirs using remote sensing, and their relationship with climate change and human health.
