Conservation Biology and Global Change

Josué
Martínez De La Puente

His research focuses on the ecology and evolution of parasite transmission networks in the context of global change. By combining field-based and experimental approaches, he investigates the interactions among insect vectors, vertebrate hosts, and pathogens, as well as the ecological and evolutionary factors that shape transmission dynamics.

His current research places particular emphasis on the role of the microbiota in modulating these interactions and on how different components of global change influence its composition.

He provides scientific evidence to improve the management of insect vector populations and the diseases they transmit under global change, including climate change, biological invasions, and habitat alteration.
