Mónica Gutierrez Rivillo

I am a technician specialized in EBD. I studied my studies in Chemistry at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. Since October 2021 I am the technical manager of the Chemical Ecology Laboratory. The tasks I am in charge of focus on the qualitative and quantitative analysis of chemical compounds of different nature present in biological samples, which are essential to understand some of the ecological and evolutionary processes. Related to these tasks, I make use of several High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) systems, equipped with different detection systems, such as UV/VIS range PDA, fluorescence detector and mass spectrometry detector.

Prior to this position, I worked in the Molecular Ecology Laboratory for almost 10 years, where I also performed both technical and  management tasks. I was part of the Molecular Sexing Service, as well as the Sequencing Service, and collaborated in several research projects that performed their analyses in that laboratory.

Currently, I also belong to the Equality Committee of this center.
