Research Coordination Office

The Doñana National Park Law of 1978 assigns the director of the Doñana Biological Station the "coordination of all research programmes carried out in the Doñana National Park". To support this task, the Research Coordination Office was created in 1989.

Its current functions are the processing, coordination and monitoring of research projects in Doñana as part of the ICTS Doñana services. Internally, its functions imclude applying for research permits for field work in Spain, maintenance of institutional databases, preparation of annual reports and support for strategic planning. This office also centralises dissemination and communication activities, management of external staff and occupational risk prevention. It collaborates in the organisation of both scientific and outreach events. Finally, it supports the management of international projects and, in general, institutional projects.
