Plant-animal interactions in a scenario of rapid population expansion of a Mediterranean juniper

• Researchers at the Doñana Biological Station have analyzed which species have an essential role in the seed dispersal of Phoenicean juniper in the Doñana National Park.

The Doñana Biological Station designs an application to find out how climate change affects the phenology of vegetation

Phenology is the science that studies the relationship between the cycles of living beings and climatic factors. Using vegetation indices, we can know how climate change may affect or alter these natural vegetation cycles.

A new study reviews the biodiversity of the 16th century in Spain

A team from the Doñana Biological Station – CSIC has reviewed a exhaustive standardized historical survey (Relaciones Topográficas de Felipe II) with the goal of knowing which species inhabited the Iberian Peninsula at that time.

In the 16th century, bears and wolves coexisted with the Iberian lynx, wild asses still existed in Spain and eels were in every river. Data is collected in an open database for new research.
