Dryland ecosystems are increasingly exposed to rising temperatures, altered precipitation patterns, and intensifying land use, yet their impacts on invertebrate population dynamics remain poorly understood. In this talk, I will present results from over two years of continuous monitoring of four dung beetle species in the southern Kalahari, South Africa. Using a multispecies modelling framework, I will explore seasonal population dynamics and how rainfall, temperature and resource availability shape them, providing a quantitative baseline for understanding and forecasting future responses to global change.
