The main goal of the DECODE consortium is to create an interdisciplinary network of researchers to face the challenges posed by the emerging field of plant-plant communication at the ecological, genetic, physiological, and chemical levels. DECODE will focus on the development of conceptual issues to address the difficulties of plant-plant communication (e.g. benefits, costs and error management of communication), but also on the application of state-of-the-art technologies (e.g. ultra-high performance liquid chromatography coupled with high resolution mass spectrometry).
