My research focuses on the interaction between behavioral ecology and population ecology, with a particular interest in how dispersal, movement, and habitat selection determine population dynamics in changing environments. I combine ecological and evolutionary approaches to understand the processes that regulate population persistence and to provide solutions to biodiversity conservation challenges.
My work has primarily focused on the study of the movement and dispersal ecology of birds, with a special emphasis on raptors and steppe birds. My applied research has centered on the conservation of threatened species, the assessment of the effects of habitat loss and fragmentation, and the mitigation of the impact of human infrastructure, particularly renewable energy projects and power lines.
My work is geared toward generating and transferring knowledge to support the management of the natural environment through the development of conservation strategies, the assessment of environmental impacts, and collaboration with public agencies, conservation organizations, and businesses.
