I study aspects related to the ecology and conservation of carnivores, including species such as the genet, the Iberian lynx and the jaguar in South America. I am interested in understanding how a carnivore community behaves and structures itself, the interactions produced by interference competition and predator-prey relationships. My latest projects have focused on the traditional hypothesis of trophic segregation between conspecifics or individuals of the carnivorous mammal guild, using advanced genetic techniques.
